The Problem With NIN
Nine Inch Nails= A guilty pleasure of mine. I am a fan. However, I recognize that NIN has a time and a place. Church, for example, is not the time to rock out. Here is the problem. The majority of NIN's songs have an industrial beat, so often, unlike other alternative music, the rhythm will consist of nothing more than a series of blips, taps, ticks, or other mechanized sounds. So there I am, minding my business at church, when I start tapping on my scriptures. No biggie, just a couple of taps, kind of a nervous habit. Tap, tap, tap, tap, and before I know it, my mind has jumped into a raging rendition of Wish, from the album Broken. Anyone who knows the song, knows its not a church song. In fact, its even irreverent for a NIN song. Moral? Stop tapping on your scriptures.
