Death by Retro Science #1: Rotary Phones

I love them, I miss them.

A rotary dial sends interrupted electrical pulses, known as pulse dialing, corresponding to the number dialed. They were used from the turn of the 19th century through the 70's when they were phased out by lame touch tone phones. Even so, I remember seeing them around throughout my childhood, and was always fascinated. They should make rotary cell phones. It would make texting much more enjoyable.
