I read 150 of 180 pages in a book about the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. That is a really strange and fascinating period of American history, and one that is relatively unknown. The Spanish policies towards Indians were so much more intense than English or American policy. I am getting tired of learning about American Indian policy. It is very redundant. Also the dynamics between the Pueblos, the Mestizo and Spanish settlers, the Governor of New Mexico, and the Fransiscans were so wild. In the end it culminated in the most successful Indian rebellion in American history. And it all happened long before British Colonists had even crossed the Appalachian Mountains. Tomorrow I will finish the book.
