This was a really cool movie. Thanks to Adam for introducing it to me. It is the story about a busker in Ireland who meets a Lithuanian(?) immigrant and they write and perform some really good music together. It is an indie film and is rated R for a bunch of Irish F-words, but it is never obscene. Even so, some of you might want to keep an eye out for the soundtrack instead. The lead actors are Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. They are a couple in real-life. He is the front man for the Irish alternative band, The Frames and they have a band together called The Swell Season. They actually wrote the songs in the movie. It's cool because you can sense their chemistry, and also their love of the music they are performing. In short it is a really good indie musical with an Oscar winning soundtrack. Give it a listen.
