Epic Failure.

After school today I arrived at my car to find a flat tire. I got out the spare, and the crappy little dollar store jack that they throw in there, and I lifted the front drivers side wheel off the ground. I managed to get the tire off. Home free, right? Wrong. The car rolled off the jack and slammed into the asphalt. Luckily I wasn't under it. So some dude comes over. Its pretty lame that a guy has to get help from another guy to change a tire, but at this point I'm sufficiently humbled to accept help. So the guy puts the little jack under the car and lifts it off the ground again.... and the damn thing rolled off again. At least at this point I realize its not just me. The problem is that the road is uneven and poorly graded. Thanks Cedar City. Also, it's just a terrible jack. So the guy runs over to his car and gets a bigger better jack and we manage to get the car off the ground without grinding it into the road a third time. Luckily nothing except my pride was permanently damaged.

It reminded me of trying to change the truck tire on the Escalante trip. Davy focused on his arts and crafts while garit, mike, and i, tried to use a similarly worthless jack to lift a truck, which proved impossible without the help of slabs of sandstone. I have terrible luck with changing tires.

I've always found that Japanese cars have awesome jacks. Never a problem.

I wish Davy was still crafty. I've been begging him to paint my house for over 6 months.

Ask him to braid you hemp wall hangings.
